INTRODUCTION
TALENT4Life is an alternative curriculum training provider committed to helping learners of all ages who, for whatever reason, find themselves either disengaged from mainstream education or out of work and in need of training to improve their employability.
Depending on requirements, we use a combination of classroom and practical activities to deliver a range of alternative qualifications and training that will re-engage learners. This will provide them with the appropriate GCSE equivalent qualifications, life skills or employment skills that will give them a wider range of opportunities as they progress either into further education, training or employment.
For our younger learners we are committed to developing and delivering personal learning and thinking skills (PLTS) through a range of QCF Accredited qualifications incorporating Functional Skills and therefore meet the needs of the 14-19 Education and Skills national educational strategy and Every Child Matters.
For those looking to improve their employment prospects or attend training to carry out their current role we have a selection of courses delivered by a team of fully qualified and experienced trainers.
All educational staff delivering TALENT4Life programmes are qualified to the appropriate level for the subject they are delivering.
PROGRAMMES
TALENT4Life’s highly flexible learning programmes are designed to meet each school and Student’s needs and can be adapted around each participating school’s curriculum to ensure that the content is as relevant as possible. Each learning programme is designed to result in achieving one or more qualifications, such as the Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) or Certificate in Skills Towards Enabling Progression (Step Up).
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and Functional Skills are embedded in the Pre and Post 16 learning programmes.
TALENT4Life delivers programmes to 3 different groups of learners:
PROGRESSION
TALENT4Life works closely with the schools and Connexions PA's to ensure where possible that students progress beyond year 11 into further education or employment. We assist with the arranging of placements and interviews; where necessary a member of staff accompanies the young learner on their interview.
FLEXIBILITY
TALENT4Life works in partnership with a diverse range of training providers and organisations which allows the flexibility to not only move a learner from one in-house programme to another but also to utilise the services of an external provider. This facility will ensure that every effort is made to find the right programme to fit the needs of the young learners. Examples in this academic year have been students placed on:
- A horse care programme resulting in them working towards and NVQ 1 in Horse Care
- A nursery placement
- A construction programme
OUTSOURCED SOLUTION
TALENT4Life manages all administration associated with a programme, ensuring that the workload for the school is kept to a minimum. From planning to risk assessment and thereafter running each programme, TALENT4Life provides the complete outsourced solution which is delivered at an extremely competitive price.
SUCCESS STORIES
TALENT4Life has improved the opportunities of students from a number of schools across Leicestershire. Pupils have not only gained valuable GCSE equivalent qualifications but have progressed into further education and employment like the Armed Forces. We have also been successful in reintegrating several students back into mainstream education.
